Hey there, everyone! Fae here, with the next of the crewmember features in the leadup to Void Dreaming's initial launch!

Today we're going to be touching on Tulemeni: cybe, otter, navigation officer, an utter mystery to all around her. Let's get into it!

Species: Cybe/Otter (Kesh’anun)

Physical Age: Unknown

Biolocked Age: Unknown

Gender: Femme

Homeworld: Vallis

Role: Chief Navigation Officer

An enigma among the crew of the Void Dreamer, few aboard are able to get a handle on the mysterious cybe that calls herself Tulemeni. This isn't their fault as much as it is her own, as Tulemeni's ability recall her own history is incredibly limited. She is laser focused on the immediate matters that demand her attention, and as a cybe Tulemeni is able to direct that focus with a mechanical precision that makes her well-suited to her role as navigation officer.

As capable as she is thanks to the otter's extensive augmentations, Tulemeni is acutely aware of what she has lost in the process. Fond of natural environments that help to remind her of her organic roots even as she exists in a space that keeps her as far from physical nature as possible, Tulemeni finds solace not in the company of others, but the company of herself. While other crew sleep, she ensconces herself within a virtual environment of her own design; a place where she is able to relinquish control of her burdensome cyberware and allow her mind and body both to achieve a measure of rest.

This does result in her life being lived in delicate balance between her organic needs and the requirements of her cyberware. Tulemeni herself has mixed feelings about the nature of that balance, but there is little that she can do about that from where she stands. Be they blessing or burden, she can't deny the power of her cybernetics... or the fact that her continued existence depends entirely on her ability to work with them. Without them, she wouldn't be able to maintain her role aboard the Void Dreamer, and the galaxy beyond the ship's hull is far more hostile to cybes like Tulemeni than she would like. 

 Her neutral expressions and tones obscure a dry wit and a resolute, if inscrutable, moral compass. Introspective when given the opportunity to be, questions on the nature of one's self and one's place in the universe come easily to Tulemeni. Whether or not she has any answers for herself or for anyone else, the otter is more than pleased to devote her time (and processing cycles) to such conundrums. And maybe through such conversations with those willing to engage her and understand her on her own terms, Tulemeni might be able to find some answers within herself as well.
